(So Cal September PR) Season Review

After a slow beginning to the year, the So Cal Bruins show they’re true quality to finish out the year with 96-100 wins. Although it is likely the Bruins will fail to hit 100 wins for the second year in a row, they do manage to earn a playoff berth for the 15th straight year.

The Bruins will challenge the Baffin Island Beavers in the Wild Card Game to earn the right to face either the Plymouth Rocks or the Irvine Gang Green in the NLDS. It is expected that the Bruins will face former teammate Jesse Little in the Wild Card game, while the So Cal Bruins are expected to throw Alejandro Mendez.

General Manager Jackson Cornelius has earned the fans support through signings of key contributors CF Jesus Campus, and 1B Kiyonaga Morita. GM Cornelius has been very optimistic and giddy during his latest press conferences as he awaits some October Baseball. When a reporter asked GM Cornelius “Are you excited for the playoffs?”, he replied “Yeah.”

Now for some team awards:

Team MVP: C Earl Wiggins

In a recent ESPN article, Wiggins was rated the 3rd best player in the 4 major American Sports, behind only Lebron James and Lebron James Jr., the dynamic father-son duo of the Orlando Magic. Wiggins “finishes” the year with a 9.6 WAR, 1.067 OPS, 129 RBIs, and 45 dongs. STUD.

Batter of the Year: C Earl Wiggins

STUD.

Pitcher of the Year: SP Alejandro Mendez

Often called out for not running out grounders, Mendez had an impeccable ear on the last year of his contract. Mendez went 16-7 with a 3.50 ERA and 208 Ks in 198 innings pitched. Will he be the Wild Card game starter? Will he be re-signed? Only time will tell.

Fielder of the Year: CF Jesus Campos

Campos, the big signing this season, had a great year at the plate as the leadoff hitter for the Bruins. Almost more importantly, he played good defense at one of the more important positions in the game. Campos Posted a +7.6 ZR and a 1.027 EFF, which is good in So Cal.

Shitter of the bed: SP Flint Gray

Gray was supposed to claim a spot at the back end of the So Cal rotation for years to come, but his performance this year made him out to be more of a reliever than a starter in future years. Gray went 16-7 (?) with a 5.09 ERA and 133 Ks in 191 innings pitched.

Top Prospect: RF Julio Rodriguez

A prized International Free agent 2 years ago, Rodriguez has hit his way to A ball. Rodriguez projects to be an average outfielder with above average speed, but boy can hey swing the stick. He’s a well rounded hitter, with dong power at 20.

Sincerely,
GM King Doctor Cornelius
