(SEA June PR) Albert Lebel is Better than You

SEATTLE - Lebel, once synonymous with the Toronto Titans having played 6 1/2 seasons under man-child Goldi Goldberg, may end up entering the Hall of Fame (which is basically guaranteed at this point) wearing a Pikes jersey.

The 31 year old south paw signed a massive 9 year $209 million contract this off-season that will ensure he's with Seattle for the remainder of his career, pending a trade or trip to the waiver wire. Despite how egregious the contract may seem on paper, so far this season, Lebel is living up to it.

Through 12 starts, Lebel holds a 6-1 record and 1.37 ERA. He leads the Continental League in ERA, WHIP, oOBP, oOPS, and WAR, but because he's pitched 21 fewer innings than Kevin Bush, he'll likely miss out on winning the Cy Young Award - because... "innings bro, like the more innings you pitch the better. er. im dumb. errr. I'm aaron and i think innings are more important than anything." - Aaron Blank

Part of the reason that the Pikes ace has fewer innings is a screw up with the 7 day lineup that had Lebel skip a start - that's alright though because the Pikes went 6-1 that sim anyway and Lebel won his next, well-rested start.

Lebel is on pace for a career high 10.7 WAR and could and 300 ERA+. It'll be interesting to watch whether the Moose can keep up his ridiculous numbers, but based on the three months so far, he deserves the super rare "Bob's Burger Colin".
