Vista pre-season PR; Market Share Map

This is my interpretation of how the fan bases would be dived in the BSA.

Below it I have some notes about how I came to some of these conclusions. Might be interesting for new guys as there's some history facts in here. This doesn't necessarily line up with what the in game tells you your market share is. I'm basing a lot of this off of our leagues history which the game wouldn't account for (teams moving, teams moving to areas where there are already popular teams). In real life, the Clippers moved to LA and have now been better than the Lakers for many years but still haven't been able to scratch a dent in the city's loyalty to LA. Using that logic I made decisions similar to that. Like for Irvine and Plymouth to a lesser extent.

Anyway, here it is.

Fresno has some splotches of fan base in Reno and Portland from their previous time in the areas. After supporting a bad Reno franchise for years, the city feels they deserve to be able to root for the current version of their old team they loved to hate. Plus, it's not too far.

Houston was unable to maintain their Toronto fan base because of the way in which they left town. Many former Titan fans went back to rooting for the Frenzy who were there first anyway. The Generals gained back a lot of what they lost in the move, though. Form Oklahoma Droogies fans were happy to have their old franchise return to the states. It's not in Oklahoma but they are a lot closer to home.

Irvine should have a much bigger fan base in California at this point but the team made the mistake of moving to an area that was already occupied by two franchises who have been competing in the BSA since inception. They then took a few years remaining in LA's shadows before becoming the constant contender they are today. However, their past time spent in El Paso and Alaska has their old fan bases regaining interest. The Alaska fans especially have been rooting from afar since the team skipped town after just their second season where they improved from 68 wins to 85 and seemed to be destined for greatness riding the back of 24 year old slugger Shumei Yokoyama.

The Plymouth Rocks are another team that chose an already heavily populated area. The Boston Rebels were Massachusetts only franchise until Cleveland made the move. The Rocks have been an instant success but it's been tough to pry away all the fans from the Rebels who have won 2 championships themselves. While gaining the support from everyone is Massachusetts has been difficult, it's been a little easier to sway other parts of New England.

Austin has a splash of support remaining from their days in Regina. Regina fans figure Baffin games are just as far. Niagara too.

San Francisco fans basically consist of just natives to the city. With Fresno's recent rise to power, many people living in Northern California have jumped ship from the once proud franchise. (SF won 89, 89, 98, and 94 games each season from 2014 to 2017).

Nassau unfortunately wasn't represented on this map but pretend that the Bahamas are thereand that's where their fan base is. Since they are an expansion team they have had difficulty developing a fan base of true diehards, but their games will always have somewhat of an attendance because of their location. In addition to reaping the  benefits of being in a tourist destination, the team is also popular among the youth seeking out rare logos for their snapback hats.

Similar to Nassau, Kalamazoo has benefited from being a new expansion team. In addition to their caps, their team nickname gets a lot of jersey buys.

Nevada noise are new to town so they are slowly developing their fan base. They shouldn't have problems getting at least some seats at the game with their location. But getting the diehards from Nevada will be difficult. The Reno Cards used to be the only team in town. And now they they are the Mighty Deplorables, and for people in Northern Nevada, they are much closer. A few fans left over from the Los Cabos days remain. The Cartel were too successful to just let go.

Much to the shock of the BSA world, the once powerful Hendersonville Hitmen franchise relocated to Beech Mountain, North Carolina.

Hitmen fans were shocked. It's very rare that a franchise as successful as this would uproot itself. Luckily they didn't move THAT far. However, the Nashville G-Strings are the new team in Tennessee. If they find success faster than the Mountaineers, they may steal back some of the former Hitmen fans left over.
