New York Knights Press Release: 30 April 2028
The Knights began 2028 as they have so many times, under .500 and with questions surrounding both the offense and pitching. Star pitcher Hong-ryul Yun is sitting at 2 and 2 with an ERA of 5.97. Dan Wilson’s ERA is just a bit lower at 5.76, the front office hopes that Yun and Wilson can correct their early struggles and history provides ample evidence that both should improve over the course of the season.
Management is not surprised with the anemic performance of the offense as little was done in the offseason to make up for the loss of both Donaldson and Blake. Even the loss of the mediocre Yasuhiko Sumita went unaddressed. The problems are scattered throughout the lineup, with the team OBP hovering around .310. The Knights are pinning their hopes on Pepe Carrasco, Warren Potter, and Lonnie Anderson, the rest of the offense is a patchwork of mediocre players at best.
The team was able to get ten million dollars for OF Gabriel Erwin in hopes of shoring up their money situation. The Knights appear to be looking to the future and any on field success will be a pleasant surprise.
Offensive stars:
Warren Potter .350/.357/.537
