While some teams (understandably) need to tank in order to rebuild their franchise, Nevada is committed to rebuilding while they tread water within the NL Western Division.
Currently, the Noise are 11-8 on April 24th and have a 1 game lead in the wildcard race. It's almost funny when you think about it, considering last year this franchise hoped to set the BSA a blaze. Last year, this franchise began May 8 games under .500!
Now, don't take that as confidence. This team is not a playoff contender though at the same time, other teams need to step it up and take this spot from us.
The bullpen has been huge for the Noise thus far. Especially when you consider none of our top 3 starters have an ERA under 5.50.
The offense has scored the 4th most runs in the NL, which is likely thanks to Young, Madrid and Mullins hitting like we had hoped they would last April.
We'll see, I like how the team is scraping wins together. But, I will wait to see how things look at the end of May before I think this team could actually fight for a wildcard.
On the farm, right now Juan Estrada looks the most promising. He went from Rookie ball to AA after a trade with Kansas City and he looks very comfortable in AA.
